Rustins Teak Oil 500ml is a premium-quality wood treatment designed to seal, protect, and enhance the natural beauty of teak, cedar, and all bare wood surfaces. Suitable for both interior and exterior use, it provides a rich, durable gloss finish that highlights the grain and natural colour of the wood. For a softer satin finish, Rustins recommends using Rustins Danish Oil.
This versatile teak oil can be used on joinery, doors, garden furniture, indoor furniture, and any bare wood surfaces, offering long-lasting protection while giving the wood a natural shine.
How to Use Rustins Teak Oil
- Preparation: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from any existing varnish or paint. Sand down if necessary to create a smooth surface.
- Application: Apply Rustins Teak Oil generously with a cloth or brush, and wipe off any excess oil after a few minutes.
- For exterior wood, apply with a brush and leave to dry without wiping off excess oil. Any small raised areas (“nibs”) can be smoothed on the final coat by rubbing along the grain with a scouring pad and wiping away extra oil.
- Coats and Drying: Bare interior wood usually requires 3 coats, while exterior wood may need more. Allow 4–6 hours drying time between coats for the best results.
