Hymenocalis 'Festalis ' is a low-maintenance perennial which usually have long and slim pure white petals, originating from bulbs and are scented with a lemony fragrance ,which lasts all summer. With their distinctive shaped flowers, consisting of six narrow, elegantly curved petals attached to a shallow cup that is formed from the fused stamens,they give the effect of a spider, thus explaining the common name 'Spider Lily'.when planting choose a sunny or mostly sunny spot that provides some shelter from wind. Most importantly, make sure the soil is very well drained. Hymenocalis need moisture in the spring, but the soil should be quite dry during summer, and autumn .Hymenocalis can be grown successfully in containers
- Find a sheltered position in full sun with free-draining soil, preferably sandy soil.
- Plant your Hymenocallis Festalis bulbs with their neck and shoulders above soil level.
- Space the bulbs around 10-15cm apart.
- Water regularly. Allow the soil to become dry between watering.
