An integrated camera detects lawn edges by recognising colours and surface structures - mulch, paving, gravel and tarmac all read differently to the camera than grass - while ultrasonic sensors detect physical obstacles like walls, hedges and trees. The result is a robot mower that can start mowing almost immediately after unboxing, skipping the time-consuming wire installation that boundary-wire models require.

Common Questions
Is there really no boundary wire at all?
The main lawn area is detected by the camera, removing the need for a full perimeter wire. A short 12m guide cable and 5m magnetic tape are still used near the charging station to help the mower navigate that specific area.
What happens if my lawn doesn't have clear visual edges?
The camera detects boundaries by recognising differences in colour and surface structure, such as mulch, paving or gravel against grass. If your lawn blends gradually into surrounding ground cover with no clear visual distinction, a boundary-wire model such as the 500m² model may give more reliable results.
Why does it cover less area than the largest boundary-wire model?
The camera and sensor system is matched to a 500m² coverage area. For lawns up to 1200m², the Boundry wire model covers more ground, though it requires wire installation.
