Suitable for use on windows, doors and other exterior joinery, the Sikkens Cetol Filter 7 Plus is a medium build solvent-based woodstain. The Sikkens Cetol Filter 7 Plus protects wood against sun damage as it is uniquely formulated with UV absorbers.
Sikkens Cetol Filter 7 Plus also is moisture vapour permeable, meaning it will allow any water vapour in the wood to escape and not get trapped underneath the surface.
How to use Sikkens Cetol Filter 7 Plus Pine 5 Litre:
- The wood surface that you wish to treat should be clean dry and free from grease and dirt. The wooden surface should also not exceed an 18% moisture content prior to applying Sikkens Cetol Filter 7 Plus.
- When applying to joinery, it should be treated with a base coat of Sikkens Cetol HLS Plus.
- Before beginning, you should do a trail run on a small unnoticeable area of the woods surface to make sure you are 100% happy with how it looks, following the manufacturer’s instructions on the tin throughout the process.
- You should only apply Sikkens Cetol Filter 7 Plus when the temperature and humidity is suitable (between 5°C and 35°C).
- Make sure the woodstain is mixed properly prior to starting the job and throughout, this will help ensure a consistent even finish.
- Using a high-quality natural bristle paint brush, apply two coats of the Sikkens Cetol Filter 7 Plus.
To achieve the best results, it is advised to keep the time between the application of the coats as short as possible, while at the same time, giving enough time to allow the coat to dry thoroughly.
